Terms of Service

These terms cover how you can use our software. We tried to write them the way we'd want to read them ourselves — plain language, no surprises buried in fine print. By using the software, you're agreeing to what's below. If you don't agree, don't use it — or email us first and we'll talk it through.

1. Who We Are

Enigma Tech Solutions LLC is an Ohio-based software company. In this document, "we" and "us" mean Enigma Tech Solutions LLC. "You" means the person or business using the software.

2. The Service

We build software for service businesses — job tracking, inventory, a customer portal, invoicing, and related tools. You can get it two ways:

  • Self-Hosted: a one-time purchase. You run the software on your own hardware. You own your data and control your own server.
  • Managed Hosting: a monthly fee. We host the software for you on servers we run.

3. Your Account

Keep your login information to yourself. You're responsible for what happens under your account. If you think someone else got in, tell us right away.

4. Acceptable Use

Don't use the software to do anything illegal, harmful, or dishonest. Specifically, don't:

  • Break the law or violate someone else's rights.
  • Try to disrupt, attack, or take the software apart beyond what the law allows.
  • Upload malicious code, or content that violates our users' privacy.
  • Resell or hand off the software to someone else without asking us first.

We can suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

5. Your Data

Your business data is yours, not ours. You can export it, delete it, or take it elsewhere whenever you want. We will never sell it, hold it hostage to keep you as a customer, or use it for anything besides running the service you're paying for.

You're responsible for making sure the information you enter is accurate and legal to have.

6. Our Software

The code, design, and logos belong to us. Paying for the service gives you the right to use the software for your business — it doesn't mean you own the software itself.

We ship updates often. Features can change, improve, or occasionally get removed. If a change is a big deal, we'll give you a heads-up first.

7. Payment (Managed Hosting)

  • Billed monthly, paid in advance.
  • If payment is more than 14 days late, we may pause the service.
  • Cancel any time — you can still export your data for 60 days after you cancel.
  • We don't do partial-month refunds, but if something goes wrong on our end, we'll make it right.

8. Self-Hosted Tier

  • Your one-time purchase includes the current version of the software, help getting it installed, and free updates for as long as your license is active.
  • You're running the hardware, so keeping it online is on you — we'll give you documentation and support, but we can't control your server.
  • Extra work like custom development or migrating old data in is priced separately.

9. No Guarantees (the boring legal part)

We put real effort into making this software work well, but we can't promise it'll be perfect or solve every problem you run into. Legally, that means we can't offer guarantees beyond what the law requires of us — the software is provided as-is.

10. If Something Goes Wrong

If we mess up and owe you something, the most we're responsible for is whatever you paid us in the past 12 months. We're not on the hook for indirect losses — like lost profits, or data you didn't back up yourself.

11. Ending Things

Either of us can end this relationship at any time. If we end it because you didn't pay or broke the rules, you don't get a refund of remaining prepaid fees. Either way, you can still export your data for 60 days afterward.

12. Which State's Laws Apply

These terms follow Ohio law, since that's where we're based. If there's ever a dispute, it gets handled in an Ohio court.

13. Changes to These Terms

We might update these terms sometimes. If a change actually matters, we'll email account holders at least 30 days before it takes effect. Using the software after that means you're OK with the update.
